I put down a deposit. When is my final payment due?

We do not accept checks. Payment must be made through our online registration system at  www.teamsideline.com/fastpitchshowdowns

What is your refund policy?

A $100 non-refundable deposit or payment in full is required to sign up for each Fastpitch Showdown Tournament. If the team decides to withdraw before the tournament is sold out (or May 1, whichever comes first ), a full refund will be issued less the $100 non-refundable deposit. If a team drops out after May 1 or the tournament has sold out earlier and we have turned away teams, no refund will be issued.

What if I am not sanctioned USA Softball?

Sanctioning is available when you check in at the tournament. The process takes 3 minutes. We do not have the 2020 pricing yet but last year it was $35 per team.  

What do I need for check in?

Proof of insurance and proof of USA Softball sanctioning. Sanctioning is available when you check in.

Is there a parking or admission fee?

There is no admission fee. The City of Columbus charges a parking fee of $5 per day per vehicle.

What is the format?

All teams have a 5 game guarantee.

14U, 16U and 18U teams will play our Recruiting format. Teams will be divided into 4 team pools and will play 3 pool play games. At the completion of pool play all teams will then be seeded and placed into brackets. For each age group there will be 4 brackets - Gold (1st Place in Pool), Silver (2nd Place in Pool), Bronze (3rd Place in Pool), and Copper (4th Place in Pool). Bracket play will begin Saturday afternoon.   If you lose your 1st bracket game you will play one consolation game (5th game) and that will be your last game regardless if you win or lose. If you win your 1st bracket game, you play until you lose. The champion and finalist for each bracket in each age group will receive medals.

When should I expect the schedule?

The schedule should be emailed out to coaches and posted on our web site no later than 30 days before the tournament. 

What are the rules?

Are metal cleats allowed?

As of 2020, in order to protect the fields, Berliner Park has prohibited metal cleats by all players on all fields at the park. Plastic cleats, turf shoes and sneakers are permitted. There will be no exception to this rule. 

How do I register for the Player Development and Recruiting Clinic on Thursday July 9?

What college coaches are attending the clinic?

How do I submit my player profile for the college coaches book?

That link will be posted beginning June 1. (Same link as in the player profile block).  Submitting your profile is a requirement of attending the tournament (for 14U, 16U and 18U).  Players are assigned bibs to identify them to college coaches.  All players at 14U, 16U and 18U must wear their bib throughout the tournament in order to play.  If you are already committed or not interested in playing in college, you must wear your bib backwards. 

What is the deadline for submitting my player profile?

What if I did not fill out my profile in time?

How do I nominate players for the All Star Game?

Can a player participate in the Clinic and All Star Games?

Yes, the events are all on Thursday but do not overlap so players may participate in all events. 

Do I have to book a hotel through your hotel coordinator?

For this tournament booking team hotel rooms through HelmsBriscoe is a requirement of ours, and using HelmsBriscoe is in our contract with Berliner Sports Park. No other hotel agency can be used for a tournament at Berliner Sports Park and you cannot book hotels independently. Any non-local team (more than 70 miles away) that does not abide by this requirement will not be permitted to participate in the tournament.
